If you live, work, worship, or attend school in Pueblo, Fremont, or Huerfano counties, you are eligible for membership. 
Becoming a member is easy! Apply online, give us a call, or visit a branch near you. 
Credit unions are not-for-profit and are owned by their members. Because we are member owned, our profits are given back to our members by offering lower loan rates, higher deposit returns, and fewer fees. 
Mobile Banking:  Download our mobile app on your personal device. Navigate to your phone's app store (Google Play Store for Android, App Store for Apple) and search for "SunWest Credit Union." Look for the icon with our orange sun logo and download it to get started.

We generally need a valid government issued ID (State ID, U.S. Passport, Drivers License) to open an account. We are unable to use a digital copy of your ID for account opening. Address verification may also be requested.

If you would like to pay for your loan from an outside bank or credit union, you can use the following methods:
 
  • Set up an automatic transfer from an outside bank using an ACH Origination form
  • Pay for your loan in one of our branches
  • Pay by mail
  • Pay by phone using a debit card or account number
  • Use the online payment center on our website ($5 fee)
    • Pay from a SunWest Account (click "Login" above)
    • Pay from another account
  • Current pay stub
  • A copy of your insurance
  • Current copy of your registration
  • Title 
  • Your driver's license
  • Proof of residence (phone bill, electric bill, trash bill, etc)
  • Registration (if you own or are buying from a private party)
  • Purchase agreement or payoff statement (if you are refinancing)
  • If you purchased a car in the last 12 months - a copy of all the paperwork you were provided with at the time of purchase
If you get pre-approved, you will have 30 days from the date of your application to get a loan. If your shopping experience goes past the 30 day mark, call your lender and they can reactivate your pre-approval (this will likely require an additional credit pull).

If you are looking to transfer a payment from another institution, please contact our member services department or your lender and they can get you signed up for ACH payment options. 
  • Online and mobile banking: Log in via our mobile app or website to your online banking account. Your balance will be available 24/7 for you to check or make a payment to.

  • Visit a branch: Stop in a branch and we can get a payoff printed for you!
Absolutely! We understand that things happen. If you need to change your due date, just contact your lender, send us a message through the online banking portal, or call us at 719-561-0804. There is a simple form you will sign to initiate the change. 
Absolutely! The process is quick, simple, and can be completed through our online application portal in most cases. 
 
All we need is a payoff statement from your existing lender, a declaration page for your auto insurance, and proof that the vehicle has been registered. 
This is never an easy time. Once the dust settles and you start working with your insurance company, one of the most important things to do is continue to make your car payment. Even after an accident, your loan is still active until it's paid in full. We encourage you to reach out to us so we can help you identify any additional coverages or refunds you may be eligible for. 
We offer Dealer Purchase, Private Party Purchase, Refinance, and Cash Out Financing auto loans. Dealer Purchases can be both a pre-approval that we can push out to our dealer network, or a check to the dealer if you bring us a buyer's order.
