Quicken Frequently Asked Questions

Is SunWest's home banking product compatible with Quicken?

Yes. Intuit offers several different services to integrate with financial institutions. Through our online home banking services, we provide the ability to download Web Connect files that you can then manually import into Quicken. SunWest does not provide Direct Connect or Express Web Connect / Quicken Connect access within Quicken.

How do I import my transaction history into Quicken?

When logged into your account through our online home banking services:
  1. Navigate to the History menu
  2. Select Download History
  3. Select the date range for the transactions you wish to import.
  4. Select either QFX or QIF, depending on your version of Quicken. QFX (WebConnect) files are for versions 2005 and above. QIF files are for older versions of Quicken.
  5. Click the Continue button
  6. You should receive a question from your browser asking you to Open or Save the file. Select Open
  7. Quicken should launch and allow you to import your history.

When I try to open the QFX/QIF file I downloaded from the home banking site, it won't open in Quicken. What should I do?

  1. Open Quicken
  2. Click the File menu
  3. Choose File Import
  4. Choose Web Connect File
  5. Click the Continue button
  6. Select the QIF/QFX file you downloaded from our home banking site to manually import the transactions.

Does SunWest provide QBO files for importing into QuickBooks?

Not at this time.

Does SunWest provide technical support for Intuit products like Quicken and QuickBooks?

No. SunWest does not develop or support Intuit software. If you need help using Quicken or QuickBooks, you will need to contact Intuit support.

Why doesn't SunWest provide Direct Connect (Automatic) or Express Web Connect / Quicken Connect support?

Unfortunately Intuit charges a very substancial license fee for using these services. While SunWest strives to offer our members competitive services, at this time the benefits of providing these services do not outweigh the associated license fees.

I have question about using Quicken that isn't listed above. What should I do?

Please remember that SunWest does not provide troubleshooting or support for Intuit products. For that, you would need to contact Quicken Support. If you have a question about the Quicken services we offer, or need additional help downloading your transactions, you can contact us for additional information.
